The school started with a student population of 75 and teaching staff strength of three (3) and supporting staff of eight (8). The initial program started was GENERAL ARTS 0'LEVEL. Owing to the land constraints at ZUARUNGU. The school only pioneers students wrote their G. C. E. O'LEVEL Students Certificate
xamination at ZUARUNGU in 1975. Due to the land constraints at ZUARUNGU,the school was moved to this present site and was renamed BOLGATANGA SECONDARY SCHOOL IN 1976 instead of Zuarungu secondary school. The second batch.
